Stars in the Sky

When G0D made His covenant with Abraham, He asked Abraham to look at the stars in the sky. See Genesis 15:5-6:

“Then He brought him outside and said, ‘Look up at the sky, and count the stars — if you can count them! Your descendants will be that many!’ He believed in Adonai, and He credited it to him as righteousness.”

The result of trusting in the LORD and responding to His word became a credit of righteousness counted toward Abraham’s life and being. Rav Shaul (Paul) quoted this verse and recorded this incident in the book of Romans 4:1-5:

“Then what should we say Avraham, our forefather, obtained by his own efforts? For if Avraham came to be considered righteous by G0D because of legalistic observances, then he has something to boast about. But this is not how it is before G0D! For what does the Tanakh say? ‘Avraham put his trust in G0D, and it was credited to his account as righteousness.’ Now the account of someone who is working is credited not on the ground of grace but on the ground of what is owed him. However, in the case of one who is not working but rather is trusting in Him who makes ungodly people righteous, his trust is credited to him as righteousness.”

The Apostle continues to make his case for G0D’s grace being poured out upon Gentiles and Jews alike. The righteousness of G0D is transferred to humanity by means of trusting in Yeshua. And in Yeshua, we find the covenant of G0D in the treasure chest of Israel open to all people by faith—Jewish and Gentile alike—by trusting in G0D and His provision. “He will remove your sins as far as the East is from the West.”

It is somewhat perplexing to me when I think about the millions (or billions) of adults who struggle to grasp G0D’s provision for humanity in Yeshua. Jews and Gentiles in Yeshua as One New Man point to a future full of grace and joy. However, the covenant of salvation in our Messiah Yeshua is founded upon the covenant G0D made with Abraham. The Abrahamic covenant includes a land with borders as well as salvation for all of Israel (Rom. 11). We only need to TRUST. If a 13-year-old girl can grasp the true meaning of G0D’s covenant and produce a beautiful music video, then what is holding us back?

Please enjoy young Aniyah’s music video below. Aniyah Raven wrote and produced the entire video and song.
