Psalm 133 says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard—Aaron’s beard—coming down on the collar of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon, coming down upon the mountains of Zion. For there Adonai commanded the blessing—life forevermore!”
This Psalm, given the heading of “Blessing of Unity,” indicates not only is the unity and community of brothers and sister in the Lord, but also the imagery of the oil running down Aaron’s the High Priest’s beard onto his holy robes indicates that there is a certain holiness created by believers gathering. Is brings those of us at TJCII immense joy to take part in facilitating such events.
During the pandemic, a new avenue of meeting and communication was created through the use of virtual meetings and events. It has enabled many branches of TJCII around the world to remain in close contact and given us a fresh opportunity for growth in putting together virtual conferences. This is a welcomed new tool that we will continue to utilize as we exit the pandemic.
One such event will be taking place virtually this August put on by a team in Brazil in cooperation with the International Office and Executive Committee of TJCII. Previously, there were similar virtual events held in Japan and Kenya that enabled many pastors and ministries to become aware to the message and mission of TJCII. We look forward to the work the Lord will do through the teaching the Executive Committee members will give during their time with Brazilian pastors of various denominations.
In October TJCII will have its first in-person consultation since the pandemic began to take place in Kenya. In addition to the TJCII Kenya team and the Executive Committee, the event will also include a number of Israeli leaders.
Please be in prayer with us for hearts and eyes to be open through these events. Pray for the Executive Committee members who will be speaking, for the Brazil and Kenya teams for the incredible effort they are putting into running these events, and for many who participate to come alongside the mission of TJCII.
In this way, we pray that as we see growth the global community that is TJCII would be like the “precious oil” running down Aaron’s beard. Just as the oil was meant to sanctify, may we be sanctified for the Lord’s service through our community with each other. Thank you for your prayers for these upcoming events.
