Hanukkah in Jerusalem
Then came Hanukkah in Yerushalayim. It was winter and Yeshua was walking around inside the Temple area, in Shlomo’s Colonnade. – John 10:22-23 CJB
Hanukkah Sameach…Happy Hanukkah! Tonight we light the second candle of our Hanukkiah (special menorah for this holiday) and remember why we celebrate this holiday. Yeshua (Jesus) celebrated Hanukkah in Jerusalem as we read in the above verses. It is said that most of our Jewish holidays can be summed up in these words: “They tried to kill us, G0D saved us, Let’s eat!”
They tried to kill us! G0D saved us! During this current war in Israel, we remember that G0D saves us. One of our traditional songs during this holiday is Maoz Tzur. The lyrics are as follows:
THE ROCK OF AGES IS MY SALVATION
Rock of Ages, let our song; Praise thy saving power.
You amidst the raging foes; Were our sheltering tower.
Furious, they assailed us; But your armor veiled us.
And thy word broke their sword; When our own strength failed us.
The following video is an update on the war in Israel. The Israeli man providing the update works for TBN but is speaking from the war zone in Southern Israel. May the LORD of hosts continue to strengthen and shield the IDF until the threat of Hamas and their terrorists is eliminated. Please also pray for a cessation of fighting in the North of Israel. Of course, pray for the release of all remaining hostages still held in the Gaza strip. As Israel attempts to keep the Palestinian civilians safe, please also pray for those people in Gaza. Please also pray for a decrease in anti-Semitism around the world.
Thank you and blessings of Shalom,
